Volunteer with Stay Grounded

The aviation industry is fuelling the climate crisis while raking in profits, dodging taxes, and blocking real solutions. Their greenwashing won’t save us – only organising and collective action will.

Thank you for stepping up! This is the volunteer application form, the next step in getting involved with Stay Grounded. You can indicate a specific team you’d like to join, or indicate that you’re happy to join wherever you are needed.

The deadline to apply is 23:59 on Wednesday, March 5th. We will integrate everybody we can straight away, but if too many people are keen, we might need to choose between people.

Our international team is great – but we can only do so much!

We are thinking about up to five volunteer teams:

Social media team
Aviation giants spend billions on PR—we fight back with the truth. This team creates and shares content for Twitter, Bluesky, Instagram, and TikTok, using graphic design, videos, and sharp messaging to counter industry lies and mobilise action.

Press and blogs team
The aviation industry thrives on silence, and we make sure they don’t get away with it. This team writes press releases, contacts journalists, and pitches stories to get aviation justice into the headlines. We also write blogs that expose industry greenwashing and uplift the voices of those fighting for climate justice.

Website team
A movement needs a strong digital home. This team ensures our WordPress website is up-to-date, accessible, and a powerful resource for activists worldwide. No coding experience is required (although experience with website management is much appreciated!).

Multipliers network
The multipliers network is made up of people who are interested to give workshops on topics related to aviation and climate justice, thereby multiplying the spread of knowledge! To become part of it, you need to join one of our trainings.

Conference team
This summer, we’re hosting an international strategy conference for the grounded movement, in Barcelona, from July 3rd to 6th. This team supports everything from developing the programme and preparing materials for participants to organising logistics and creating an engaging hybrid experience for those joining remotely. We’re especially looking for people who want to support with awareness and anti-oppression practice.
