Webinar: Join us in taking action against airline marketing!
Frustrated with seeing your local neighbourhood plastered in fossil advertising? Love coming up with creating actions? Want to know more about creative actions to “badvertise” the most annoying advert in your neighbourhood?
Then join this webinar, in collaboration with Badvertising, to get all the information you need to join an international week of action against airline advertising, sponsorship and greenwash. In the webinar we’ll talk about the role the advertising industry plays in driving demand for aviation and how you can get involved in the week of action against it. We’ll also be providing inspiration for some imaginative interventions!
Aviation adverts are everywhere in our streets and on social media while airlines sponsor our sports clubs and artistic institutions. Advertising normalises air travel with a superficial glamour that hides the true climate impacts of flying. This delays the system change we need for how we travel. At a time when we need to scale back air traffic movements, end all airport expansion and create a just transition for aviation workers, advertising continues to promote the expansion of an industry that has no credible plan for reducing its greenhouse gas emissions.
It’s time to stop promoting our own self-destruction!
The week of action will take place on 15th – 22nd April 2024, find out more about it here.
