Night flights are a nightmare for those living close to airports, disrupting sleep and contributing to severe health risks. But the impacts of night flights extend far beyond the local community: they are also powerful climate bombs. In this webinar, we aim at bridging the gap between the local impacts of night flights and the global consequences of air traffic. We’ll explore how the aviation industry not only contributes to air and noise pollution but is also a major driver of climate injustice, disproportionately affecting marginalised communities. More than 200 groups and hundreds of individuals raised their voices in September to demand an end to night flights. Together, neighbours, climate justice groups and communities across the globe can join together and strengthen each other to draw red lines against the harms caused by the aviation industry. Join us as we look at the actions taken by groups across the globe on the International Day for the Ban of Night Flights, and delve into the intersection of aviation, public health and environmental justice. Learn how we can collectively challenge the status quo, build change and amplify our call for a fairer, quieter and liveable future for all.
